Entertainment Center – Remote repeater
The Nov/Dec issue had plans for an entertainment center and suggested using a remote repeater so that the remote controls can be used with the cabinet doors closed. Any idea where to find such a thing? Searching on-line gave no leads…..

Rockler has two different types. Try http://www.rocklerpro.com and look up their"micro Link". Hope this helps. Good luck

i have a friend that has the rockler version( available in their professional catalog), and it works really well for his family.
Radio shack in my area has something like that, but I cant vouch for the quality
Mike,
I think you are looking for IR repeaters. I used them in my entertainment center and in the woodshop. Search for either Xantech or Buffalo IR repeaters on the Web and you should get plenty of hits. Buffalo is the "generic" version but works fine. There are various options for the receiver (the part you'll see on the cabinet) but the control blocks, power supplies and repeaters are virtually identical. I believe the products can be mixed if necessary. The Web sites also have great diagrams if this is your first job but the wiring is actually pretty simple.
