Has anyone built the edge sander in Shopnotes #37. I just built one. And now I’m haveing a hard time keeping the belt from riding up. It does’nt slip. ut when I turn it on the belt comes up off the rollers. I have never worked with an edge sander before so. I don’t how to trouble shoot. Iwas told that I might have to much tension on it. Any help. Or is ther a web site that tells you how to set up an edge sander Thanks Hat

Sounds like a tracking issue. Typically on a sander you can angle the idler roller for tracking. Usually at least one frum is crowned. Should be an adjustable spring loaded tensioner.
Interesting. Could you send me a copy? thanks.
I'm with Rick on this issue , sounds like a direct tracking problem I also first thought is one roller crowned ? usually not the drive wheel .Are the wheels lined up co planar ?
dusty
Yes they are co-planner I think that the rollers are not parallel to the belt. I have been playing wit it all day toady and it is getting better but not the way I want it. Hat
