HI everyone, I’m looking for advice on which drawer slides to use on a set of kitchen cabinets. For all the pull outs I can choose from Accuride, KB, and a couple of others I can’t think of at the moment. Like everyone else I want the best quality for the least price, but I will most likely chose the best quality regardless of price. On the smaller drawers I have only used Blum runners in the past are the other brands just as good? Do you have any experience with the under the drawer hardware such as the Blum Tandem? Thanks in advance for your opinions

I tend to use Blum slides for kitchens as they are reliable, easy to clean crumbs out of the slides, simple to install etc.One thing I don't believe on skimping is the hardware as poorly running drawers just make the rest of the work pointless. However there are horses for courses and depending on the look you are trying to achieve Accuride flippers ,Tandem, are all excellent. My favorite for general purpose use is the Blum full extension.IMHO 3/4 ext is chintzy
There's little difference in brands- far more important is to use full extension (as stated) and not 3/4 extension.
Frank,
I've used the Tandem, accuride, KV, and other imporeted roller bearing knock offs. One disadvantage, or advantage, on the undermount is you loose 1/2" under the drawer, but gain width.
For roller bearing slides(similar to accuride 3832's), I've used Dynaslide and Bulldog. The bulldogs are about 1/2 the price and have good action, no problems so far. I think I paid around $3.75 a pair recently for 16" slides, Dynaslides were about $6.00 a pair.
Take a look at Woodworkers Hardware's web site. I ordered one of each type of full extension slide and compared them to the Accuride...no discernable difference. Prices are good and service excellent.
Thanks All for all the options. I feel better now about using less expensive hardware. I will be using full extension and as of yet haven't decided on undermount or side mount.
I have used Blum Tandem full extension glides and they are my favorite. Very good action on both ends, opening out to full, then closing.
Another option you might consider is the Metabox product line from Blum. Drawer sides and slides are integral. Available in 3/4 and full extension. The product is designed so that drawerfront positioning is adjustable, for dialing in those perfect 3mm margins. Try that with any other glide. I just finished a whole house job with Metabox drawers in the kitchen, baths, dining buffet, entertainment center, and home office.
Alfit and others make a product line similar to Metabox.
