What kind of weight do you anticipate in the drawers? What chance in the future someone else would put a lot more weight in the drawers?

Hi Larry
The drawers are going into closet cabinets and the slides I selected have a 100# ratting. Because they will be holding clothing I’m not concerned about somebody overloading the drawers.
My concern is the length of the slides because I’m ordering them from a catalog and don’t want the hassle of having to send them back should I select the wrong ones (about 30 sets).
I’m leaning towards an 11” drawer with 10” slides and mounting them almost flush with the front edge of the drawer. This would leave less than 1” at the rear of the drawer. Does anyone have an opinion regarding the design?
Those 10" glides sound right. If you go to the Rockler website (http://www.Rockler,com) and find drawer glides, they'll have specification sheets in pdf format that will give you all the dimensions you should need.
If you have 12"+ of room then use the 12" slides. This will give you full use of the full extension. I would also use 11 1/2" drawer box. as these are very short drawers maybe you can make the front part of the drawer box. Or use 1/2" material "walls" for max space.
