Once you view a message, it won't show up in the list to the left if you have the Show Discussions" menu set to "with Unread Messages."
If that's the case, change that setting to "of High Interest" and it will display only those messages that you have taken part in.
Since I answered your question, I moved it to my folder "Matt Berger" so you can also click on my name to see your question on the list. I hope my answer was helpful. Write back if you need more information.
