Am making a pair of Morris chairs in QS white oak.
I’ve got a few 3/4 wide mortises to cut for tenons in the legs, and only have a benchtop mortiser, with hollow chisels at 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, and 1/2 sizes.
I don’t think there is any reason to buy a 3/4 hollow chisel set, and besides, I don’t even think one is available for this light mortiser.
Should I just cut two rows with the 5/16 chisel, and whack the sliver in the middle?

Just use the biggest cutter you have and cut the tenons to fit.
You don't give the sizes of the tenons, but I expect that 1/2" is sufficient for the width.
cutting by hand is always an option...
