There are a lot of discussions regarding CAD software going on right now. The AutoCADs of the world are great for engineering and 3D modeling of a specific piece. Each one has it’s own merits and a niche in the design process.
However, I’m interested in finding software for display purposes. I recently bought cabinets for our kitchen and the supplier was able to draw up our whole kitchen so we could see the final product from any angle. It definitely helped the process. I would like to be able to create a demonstration for customers and to be honest, the pieces don’t really need to be “engineered” to satisfy my intents.
If you walk through Best Buy, you can see several software packages that say they can do this. Ranging in price from $29.95 all the way up to several hundreds of dollars. Does anyone have experience with these types of software packages?
thanks,
Joe
