difference between unisaw and tilting…
hi,
I tried the search function with no luck.
I’m looking at a used delta tilting arbor saw, and can’t recall the difference between it and the unisaw, other than being an imported unit. Anything i should be aware or leary of? Opinions? It’s a real deal, I could sell the acessories for the price of the saw.

Both are tilting arbor saws, but there is a good difference between a cabinet saw and a contractor saw.
First, let's get rid of a possible point of confusion: almost all modern tablesaws have tilting arbors (as opposed to tilting tables).
Delta used the name "Tilting Arbor Saw" to refer to a mid-range saw that had contractor's saw type trunnions (attached to the table), an enclosed base, and a 1.5 or 2 HP motor mounted in the base. This is basically the same design as the newer "hybrid" saws, as re-invented by DeWalt and Jet.
A "true cabinet saw," OTOH, has havier trunnions mounted to the saw cabinet, and usually 3 HP with triple belt drive.
thanks,
I checked it out, and while it was a nice saw, it's no unisaw, so I'll keep looking. The trunions did appear to be attached to the table, single instead of triple belts, and I could pick it up myself, so fairly lightweight.
