My new 12″ planer (purchased 3 months ago) is cutting 3 small ridges down my stock about 1/2″ in width total at about the middle of the unit. Has anyone else experienced this?
This is my first planer. I’ve only used it a few times.

nope. But they have had quite a few problems with that planer. If its still under warranty take it a back and get a delta. IMO
Ron, I am constantly amazed by your absolute ignorance and your ability to bring any thread straight into the toilet.
.
Ron, you've got your models mixed up and your comment is outdated. The 735 had problem early in production. Far as I know, they've been worked out. The fact that you jumped on the "Buy Delta" solution so quickly pretty much validates your sign-off and shows you didn't take much, if any, time to think about the problem Steve presented.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>)
Ron,
If you had a problem with a woodworking machine, and you posted here on Knots to get help, I don't think you would appreciate someone essentially telling you, "Why did you buy that machine, stupid? You should have bought this one..." Imagine if your post became the typical kind of response people got here on Knots. The forum would quickly become useless. When I respond to posts here on Knots, I always try to imagine what I would need and want if I were on the other end.
Sounds like you've chipped one or more of the blades. Take them out and look at them (must be good-sized chip if they total 1/2"). The knives are reversible, right? so you can flip them over for new cutting surface.
It's important to be sure any lumber you plane doesn't have any debris on (or in) it that might chip a knife. Also, if you get a tiny "ding", most benchtop planers have a little play in the knives, such that you can slide them bit to one side or the other. By doing that, you can offset a blade nick so that the next blade takes off what the previous blade left.
