Actually it is a settee, and armless. I want to copy the Ethan Allen piece shown in the attached pic.
Where can I get a look at some of the details and frame designs that would enable me to do a plan for the frame?
Fine Woodworking Recommended Products
Jeske Joinery Saw
To create a quick, precise handsaw for smaller joinery cuts, Jeske took a thin, razor-sharp, Japanese-style blade and tensioned it in a frame made of carbon fiber and aluminum, adding a traditional wood handle.
Ryobi RS29OG 5-in. Random Orbit Sander
- Fair stock removal and dust collection - Thanks to a scoop in the dust port, there’s plenty of room to grip around the waist, even when attached to a shop vacuum - Handles smoothly
Waterlox Original
Versatile wiping varnish is easy to apply and great for both satin and gloss finishes.
Porter-Cable 382 5-in. Random Orbit Sander
- Without a vacuum, toward the bottom of the pack in stock removal and dust collection - With a vacuum, stock removal was good and dust collection was excellent - Slowest to stop - Not much to grip when held on top.
Marking knife: Hock Double-Bevel Violin Knife, 3/4 in.
This heavy, double-beveled knife stays on track in all directions, and works just fine without adding a handle.

Just a shot in the dark... Have you throught about going to an Ethan Allen store to look at the piece. I bet you'd be able to figure a lot of it out by touching it.
You might pick up a copy of Mario dal Fabbro's book on building modern furniture. It's out of print but you can find used copies pretty easily.
