With my new ap400, my shop area is staying alot cleaner.
I had a question though. Is there any reason that I can’t use the plastic collection bag and a better cloth filter bag. instead of the stock cloth filter bags?
The reason I ask is I know that I can get a 2 cloth bag 1 micron set from say pennstate industries, but amazon had a cloth and plastic set of 1 micron bags for 66 dollars.
There was a big sale this weekend in home improvement. up to 70 % off.
I bought a 21/2 dia. tabledge bit for 26.00, and a 31/2 inch ogee raised panel bit for 36.00 dollars. Both were Bosch.

I see no problem with a bag change. IF the new bags are sized to permit the same or more CFM air flow. One of the dust collection books I've read said, If your bags blow up firm and look like a stuffed sausage they are either too dirty or undersized.

Hmm, my bags looked like stuffed sausages the first time I used them. The ap400 is a 600 to 650 cfm machine. I think the JDS bags were for a 1000 cfm unit.Webby
Webby,
Which 1 micron bag set from Penn State were you looking at that is compatible with the AP400? I cannot seem to find one that mentions the AP400.
Likewise, if you have the link or the set you were looking at on Amazon, I would be interested in that one also if it is not too much trouble. I keep seeing the Delta 5 micron bags on Amazon for the AP400, but I have not seen a 1 micron set for it.
Thank you for your assistance.
I am sorry I don't have a link for amazon. I found them by going to tools and then typing in jds bags. The bags are for the dustforce 14033.
They also have a five micron set for about 54 dollars.
I noticed that there is no listing at pennstate for the ap400, but I assumed that the Bc1-1v would work as they are about the same size, and the units listed are higher cfm than the delta400.Webby
