I am looking to buy a dust collector and was considering the Delta 50-760. II know this is a new release but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with it. My other option was the Delta 50-850, but the 760 comes with 1 micron bag (vs 30 or 5 micron) and from what I read an easier way to change the bag. The price difference between 760 and 850 is about $40.
Thanks

I was just looking at my local Delta dealer the other day wishing for a 1 1/2 hp collector. I got talking with the owner who has been woodworking for 30+ years and has owned the shop for at least 20. He told me that he does not recommend the 1 micron because they don't have enough power. I was looking at the 11/2 hp and he said that I would need to go to the 2hp if I was looking at 1 micron bags. He said once the inside is coated with dust, that the machine starts to really bog. It can only suck as much air as it can expell. Something to think about anyway.
I've had the 50-850 a few months .......... don't find the bag change troublesome. It came with a 5 micron upper bag and plastic lower and uses 4 spring metal clips to suspend the lower bag in place till you get the band clamp on.
I have the 1-1/2 HP Delta. I installed a 30 gal galv. steel trash can upstream to knock out most of the chips and saw dust before it reaches the DC. This way I don't have to empty the bag as often.
