Looks like great deals, make sure they are not stolen.

Thanks for the reply.
That is my thinking. Why would someone want to sell these tools (unused) for almost half price.
Thanks again.
Desperate?
Times are bad.
I always get suspicious when something looks to good to be true. Usually used LN planes sell for close to list price on e-bay so why would somebody sell them for half price on Craig's list. On the other hand if they are not hot that is a great deal. Good luckTroy
One day last year I saw a Craig's List ad for a small local cabinet shop that was going out of business. It said he had hand tools. As he was only about 20 miles away I emailed and then called. He quickly warned me that all the chisels and some other desirable things were gone, but he said he had a few L-N planes. I got a list of the planes and looked up process in preparation for negotiating for one of them. When I stopped by, I found a nice old fellow who was downsizing and moving his shop. We got to talking and looking at his work in process. Then we looked at the tools for sale. He knew what he had, but was sick of selling stuff and made me a package deal. I got a L-N #4, a L-N chisel plane, the L-N large scraper plane, a card-scraper sharpener, and a very long (say 56 inch) Jorgensen I-bar clamp, all for $250.00.It would have been a good deal at a higher price, but as mentioned, he was tired of selling tools, and he liked me because I was a user and not a collector. So, you can find very nice honest deals on Craig's list.Joe
Glad to hear that you have had good luck on Craig's list. I am still hoping to find some fabulous deals on Craig's list. I have seen some good deals on power tools though.Troy
To search, use google with lie nielsen as one parameter. For example if you wanted to find the scrub plane Lataxe has always wanted you would google:
scrub "lie nielsen"
this would turn up the desired item as the first hit in the google search. You might also get some useful hits to reviews ton the item of interest.

Thanks for the response.
I tried your method and it works (duh).
Also I can see where there are a lot of tools to drool over.
Thanks again
Boogalee; here is a link to the Lie-Neilsen home page, then just click on any of the links on the left side of the page to view the product like the Low Angle Jack Plane that you found on Craiglist, then enter a quantity into the appropriate box, then click on add items to shopping cart. I hope this helps.
And by the way websites such as Lie-Neilsen and Lee Valley are very addictive so be careful. Have fun and have a great day.
