The cutter head on my jointer is not parallel with the outfeed table……..which means the apex of the knives differ slightly from one end of the knife blade to the other.
How in the world do you ever get the knifes set at the proper height accross the entire blade?!! It is a Ridgid Jointer from home depot……maybe that was my first mistake.

Is the cutterhead really out of parallel or are the blades incorrectly aligned? My Delta joiner (and most joiners I've seen) have adjusting screws to set the blade height. Assuming that your tables are co-planer, you check the ends of the blade and tweak the adjustment screw as necessary to bring the blade ends to the height of the outfeed table.
I usually have to "sneak up" on the final adjustment (check and adjust each blade end 2-3 times) before I can tighten the clamping bolts, but it usually goes pretty quickly.
I've found Ridgid tools to be pretty decent, so I suspect that you have a blade alignment problem. Your owners manual should have instructions for changing and adjusting the blades.
Just set the knives in relation to the outfeed table. I like to use the blade from a combo square, others use sticks of wood. I'm fairly specific. I place the 8" mark in line with the edge of the table, gently rotate the cutterhead and adjust the blades so the rule moves exactly 1/8". I use my wrench to rock the head back and forth. You will be surprised how accurate the knives will be.
Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
Thanks....it worked....I guess you just have to learn about the nuances of your machine....
