Hi,
this is my first time on this sight and I have a problem. I have a glued-up oak panel approximately 28″Hx23″W. This panel is already part of a base cabinet side (for a computer armoire). There is a crack – not by the glue lines – that has developed in one of the boards, about 1/16 at its wides point. How can I either fix it or cover it up? I am a novice woodworker but am willing to learn from the experts.
Thanks in advance.

How is the panel attached to the base cabinet side? If the panel is glued to the cabinet, that's your problem. You have not allowed for expansion and contraction of the panel. For a permanent fix you will first have to unglue the panel from the frame. At that point the crack may close up on its own. Then replace in the frame without using glue.
I think Ben is probably on the right track. Can you tell us more about the construction?
