Connecting Festool to Fein Vacuum

I haven’t seen much discussion of this, so I thought I’d ask. I have the Fein Turbo II vac and have been very pleased with it. Recently, I picked-up the Festool 1400 router and 125 sander and planned to use the Fein vac with them. The connection of the Fein nozzle with the router is so-so, and the sander needs an adapter of some kind.
So, does anyone have experience with making this work with something beside duct tape? My hope is that I could just attach a Festool nozzle to the Fein hose, but I’m not sure if this would work. Ideas?

I have a similar combination and ended up purchasing one of the Festool vacuum hoses. The Festool hose vacuum end plugs right into the Fein vac - doesn't lock in like the Fein hose does, but the fit is good, no leaks and no falling out. I usually keep the hose with the sander, and detach when I need it for the circular saw. The electric cord and vacuum hose are similar lengths, so the whole thing unwinds - plug both into the vac and you're good to go. Just pull/wiggle the Festool hose out when you're done.

Using the Festool hose is probably the best choice, but this Fein adapter: http://www.highlandwoodworking.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1395 fits my TS 55 pretty well, and costs very little, so you may want to try it first. It's definitely not as snug as the connector on the end of the Festool hose, though.

Thanks for both suggestions. I was hoping against hope that Festool would have a nozzle that fit the Fein hose (which is about 1-1/2" in diameter), but it doesn't seem to be the case. The adapter might be worth trying, but I was hoping for the good fit of the Festool nozzle, which I guess means spending the better part of $100 on a hose. Too bad these tools weren't more standardized for fitting!
Festool's hoses come in three sizes, 27mm, 36mm and 50mm. The smallest size is what's used on the various portable tools. The middle size may be compatible with the Fein's hose; I don't know. Festool does make adapters, and it's conceivable that there is a 27-36 adapter that would fit both the tool and the Fein hose, but the Festool online info isn't detailed enough to be able to judge one way or the other.

I did a little more investigating, and there is only a 50mm to 36mm adapter. So, I think the suggestion of the Festool hose is probably the best one for me. It would be nice to have the Festool vac, er, "extractor", but don't need to spend another $300-$400 right now.
FWIW just went through this yesterday (and sell some Festool so had all of those adaptors sitting around) and there is no Festool adaptor that fits a Fein hose. The second poster hit it - a Festool hose will plug direct into the Fein vac and the 27mm end is compatible with all Festool tools.
That guy was in the exact same boat. Had the vac. No reason to buy another. But wanted a rotex. Bought a hose. Real trucks dont have sparkplugs
Yeah, get the Festool hose. It fits into the Fein II and Festool machines. I just got a Triton router and the Festool hose fits into it as well.
The Festool hose is much more flexible than Fein hoses and Porter-Cable hoses IME. When I'm using the Fein II the Festool hose is my first choice and it usually can be made to work.

Wow, call me crazy, but my Fein hose fits perfectly into the built -in dust port on my Festool t55 saw. There's no wiggling, no duct taping, no cussing, the whole shebang simply sucks like it should. So I don't know what this discussion is all about.
Mine fits, but falls out at the slightest touch.

I picked-up the Festool hose at our local Woodcraft on the way home (I frequently tell my wife that the best feature of our home is being 5 minutes from Woodcraft). And it does seem to fit snuggly into the Fein. So thanks everyone for your advice.
You have a peculiar definition of "fits."
"You have a peculiar definition of 'fits.'"
How so? The OD of the end of the Fein hose is very slightly smaller than the ID of the port on the TS 55. Therefore, it's easy to insert the end of the Fein hose into the port--it fits. And the fit is close enough that there is some friction between the two--the hose doesn't immediately fall right back out. But both pieces are hard plastic, an the amount of friction isn't great, so it takes very little wiggling, moving, etc. of the saw before it does fall out.

The connection of the Fein nozzle with the router is so-so,............
Why beat around the bush. The Fein connection is sh*t. Looks like to me the Festool has "THE thing" with it's dust collector combos.
