can’t remember which FWW issue had these
I’m trying to find two articles I read in FWW. I’ve skimmed back thru the last couple of years but can’t find’em. One ws an article on sharpening using the supplies for DIY telescope lens grinding. The other was on setting up/tunnning the bandsaw. This one flew in the face of orthodoxy regarding the need for tension on bandsaws. Anyone remember which issues?
Thanx.

There's no shortage of articles about bandsaws in FWW. Two that might be the ones you are thinking of are "Bandsaw-Tuneup" in Issue 157 (Jul/Aug 2002) by John White and "Five Tips for Better Bandsawing" in Issue 173 (Nov/Dec 2004) by Michael Fortune.
Thanks Ben. It was in 173. Don't know how I missed it. BTW: do you know if FWW puts out a CD index of all back issues? It'd be great to load it up and search.
Hi Bakesale, Here is a link to the Online Magazine Index where you can search for articles dating back to issue #1.http://www.taunton.com/cgi-bin/artresult-fw.cgiWe no longer sell the CD archive. All of those articles, plus another 450 archive articles that have been published since the CD was printed, are available as PDFs to subscribers of FineWoodworkingNetwork.com. You can, however, search and browse the entire Network without subscribing to find abstracts of all the articles available on the site. Here is a link to the abstract for Michael Fortune's Bandsaw article from issue #173: http://www.taunton.com/FWN/ToolGuide/ToolGuidePDF.aspx?id=24093
