My wife came up with four 7″ X 30″ round candle holders which she wants me to use to build a 36 ” X 96″ table. How do I cut the mortise for the table aprons into the round legs (formerly candle holders)????

Teager,
Make a carriage that will hold the legs and allow them to rotate, then lock into position while your router can ride on top to rout the mortises.
Or lay out and cut by hand if you are so inclined.
If you lay out the center of the mortises on top of each leg then it would be just as easy to clamp the leg into position, lay out the mortises on the face and chop by hand.
You could drill out most of the waste if you like to speed up the process.
Or make the carriage to rest on the drill press table and drill out the waste then chisel to the line.
If your layout is accurate , then chopping the holes is easy.

Thank you very much. Good ideas. I'm thinkin carriage/drill press/cleanup with chisel.
I was also thinking that you could do a bridle joint or half lap if the mortises would be too much trouble. Then you could make the apron as one piece and let in the legs. No drilling, just sawing and chiseling.J.P.
