Hi All,
I just purchased some Blumotion Tandem soft close full extension drawer slides.
It looks like one would have to have the intellect of Stephen Hawking to figure out how to mount these. I know they reside underneath the drawer but the little attachment that actually secures the drawer to the slide (clips in and out) has me baffled. Anyone out there have experience with these ?
Thanks

Like most things it's terribly simple once you've done a few, but much too difficult to try to explain in words. Build the drawer exactly as the spec requires. The orange clips attach to the drawer bottom at the front corners. Make sure you also engage the little clips at the rear of each slide which keep the drawer from tipping forward. If you can get a look at a properly assembled drawer it will all become obvious, I assure you.

Euro hardware is like that. Specs and numbers make it look complicated but once you've done it a couple of times it becomes routine.
Blum makes the best product line as far as I can tell. I've used a few brands and for quality, reliability, tolerances and having the right hardware for a specific application I haven't found any company that comes close.
I just finished three drawers last night with the exact same slides you're talking about.
I agree, the first one was daunting, the second was a piece of cake.
- Make sure you have a 1/2" clearance under the drawer.
- Make sure your drawer length matches the slide's length perfectly, i.e. if you have a 12" slide, your outside dimension on the drawer depth must be 12".
- Cut out the notch in the bottom of the back panel first. Place the slide into the notch to find the spot for the 1/4" hole that goes in the back to prevent tipping.
- Fasten the orange clip into the corners, use a self centering drill bit to predrill the holes.
Let me know if you need to see a picture of anything.

Download the Tandem brochure from Blum: http://www.blum.com/pdf/BUS/4026_tdm_b/4026_tdm_b.pdf
It contains detailed installation instructions with clearly specified dimensions on clearances, hole sizes and spacings, etc. Read them carefully, and you shouldn't have any difficulties. Blum also sells a variety of jigs, which can be handy if you have more than a few drawers to install.

Hi sjay001,
One thing to watch for. When screwing the clips to the front corners of the drawer box use the proper screw (pan head) and at the proper angle. Otherwise the clip can lift away from the drawer bottom causing problems with fit and operation.

Here a few pics, just happen to have these in the shop now. Attach the orange clips with 8X1/2 pan head screws. This drawer has a 1/4" bottom, so the clips are attached to the drawer front. If you use a 1/2" bottom, you can attach the clips to the bottom. Notice the 1/4" holes in the drawer back, the little prongs on the guides go in the holes to keep the drawer from tipping forward and to eliminate side slop. The drawer bottom is recessed 1/2" and just sits on tops of the guide rails. The orange clips and the little prongs are what hold the drawer in place.
The first time I used these slides, I built a mock-up drawer to practice on. This was a great help since I too found the instruction sheet a bit confusing. It also helped because (typical for me) I didn't exactly follow the rules on side clearance.
