This is one type of contact cement made in Holland. I used it recently to glue veneer on pine wood. It worked fine but was a bit messy. My question is whether one can thin it with a paint thinner to easily be able to apply this type of glue with with a normal paint brush?

Bison makes a lot of different things, and I'm not sure what it is you're referring to. The "classic" adhesive is Montage Kit, which is wonderful stuff -
