Trying to decide between the Leigh “12” Super Jig, or the PC 2212. This is for a run of small carcases and drawers. Carcases will be 1/2″ and drawers will be 1/4″. Don’t need any more that 12″ capacity. The carcases will be half-blind, and the drawers will be through.
Far as I can tell, there’s about $50 difference, but the Leigh gives you variable spacing, which would be a plus.
Anybody had any experience with these?
Thanks

I would vote for the varaible spacing. It really gives that custom look.
I have the small pc and it works well however it just gives you that machine look dovetail.

The Leigh is VERY nice, but I would caution on the 12" one because you probably will outgrow it very quickly. Go with the 18" for a few more dollars and you will take a long time to outgrow it and it's a nice machine too.

Have you looked into the Incra Jig system for at router table. You can cut entire drawer parts and sometimes multiple drawers at same time.
Here are a few demo videos:

Tom,
I have both of those jigs, assuming you mean a PC4212 not 2212, and I use them both. If I am making a large run of drawers(dresser) I use the PC because it cuts pins and tails at the same time. If I am doing a few and am not in a hurry I use the Leigh superjig. The Leigh will cut half-blind dovetails, but I leave it set up for throughs. If I was buying just one I would buy the Leigh and I would but the 18". I had the 4212 before I bought the SuperJig. Cutting throughs takes a lot more time because of the router changing bits. I would also get the vacuum attachment for the SuperJig. I thought It would be in the way,but it is slick and works like a charm.
Have Leigh stuff. Love it..
there's about $50 difference, but the Leigh gives you variable spacing. I say no more if you EVER want variable spacing.
