New router.
I sure like my DeWalt. The little trim router is handy too.
I did production engineering in millwork plants for a while. When I had to build a router into a fixed machine, I liked to use the Porter-Cable 3 1/4 hp speedmatics. They mount solidly and hold up well in production. They have the largest bearings of the portable routers I've seen which is important if you are going to spin larger diameter cutters and will want a finer surface finish. They are easy to modify for pneumatic plunging and to interwire with the rest of the machine circuitry if you're into that sort of thing.
They are too heavy for hand held operations in my opinion unless you absolutely need that much power. The yellow DeWalt mentioned by the previous post is a better choice there. I've ended up with both in my own workshop, and mostly I pick up the DeWalt.
I'm using . . .
. . . the Porter Cable 7518 variable speed in mine. The BenchDog Pro lift I chose is made for it.
