Frank,
I used to own the Jet, and it was good. If you hang it in the right location, it works nicely. It also has a remote control, which worked well.
Remember that with these units, the key is location!

Frank,
I recently posted the design plans/instructions that I created for constructing a shop-built air scrubber. These units can be built in numerous size configurations to suit any size shop. The best part is that they can be fabricated for next to nothing if you find the right parts.

Thanks for your input. This system looks easy enough, even for me & is definately the way I'm going to go.

I bought the Jet for $199.00 last year. Has remote control and does a very good job in my 600 sf shop.

The Febuary 2002 issue of WOOD Magazine did a comparison test of six air filtration units. This may help you formulate which features you find the most important.
I believe most of the filtration units are very similar. I happen to have the JDS 750ER. Features I looked for were remote, timer, easy filter access, Filtered CFM ratings (many of the manufactures provided unfiltered CFM which to me is useless since I'm gonna use the unit with the filter in).
Good luck,
