Good Evening
I have a pile of 2″thick white pine slabs that I had milled from a tree that I had to have taken down about 2 months ago (it just died) so I have it drying and that seems to be going fine but I want is some advice about the bark. I read that if you cut a tree down in the summer the bark will fall off. The question is if I want to use it as live edge lumber do I have to try and remove the bark before using it or will it stay put, it seems to be firmly attached right know. Any knowledge would be helpful before I start working with it.
Thanks, Tom in St.Paul

Tom,
From my experience, if it wants to stay on, it will stay on. If it starts to curl or peel off on its own, it will have to come off. You could try carefully peeling it off and later gluing it back on. I have no experience doing so, though.

I have glued bark back on with success. Hard to remember where it was though! Not a big problem for me I love puzzles!
