I’m having trouble figuring out how to attach metal numerals to the face of a clock I’m making.
The face is white oak with a Tung oil finish. I tried CA glue. I tried another gel glue. I’m trouble with squeeze out. I’ve removed the numerals again and will try again later today. I guess I’ve just got to be more careful. I thought I’d check here to see if there’s something simple I’m not thinking of.

Would a spray adhesive like 3M 77 work?
Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
I'll give it a test.
Thanks.

Just old stupid me here..
Mark numeral outlines with something that will not spoil the finish.. Sand a bit of the finish off.. Should help...
Use a gel CA and not a lot needed..
I assume you cleaned the metal backs?
EDIT:: I made a clock long ago.. as I remember the numerals had metal 'darts' that helped hold them on... ??

Cinescout, what happened to the pins that used to be used for that job?
I just sent a note to a client to get some info for you. She told me about a glue that's good at just the thing you describe. Wasn't one I'd heard of before, and I've forgotten the name. She'll probably reply tomorrow morning, and I'll pass the info along.

OK, the stuff she uses is E6000. She uses it to attach plastic laminate to painted wood, of all things. Claims it "works on anything" and she's been in business a very long time making lots of different crafts items. Here's a link:

Thank you very much. I'll try to find it.
