I am considering using ambrosia maple on a rocker I plan to build. Very few dealers carry it, and those that do charge a minimal price. I am aware it is streaked by the ambrosia beetle but still find it attractive. So the question is, have you folks used it, and if so, how do you like it. Thanks in advance. PMM

I've used it, and I like it. It works like soft maple, since that's what it is, so it's not fussy at all. Around here (Ohio) it seems to be pretty common at lumber dealers.

Here is a table I recently made with ambrosia maple for the top and spalted sycamore for the apron. The finish is only tung oil.
