Hi all, I’m finally getting my workshop built. I’m going with Oneida cyclone for main dust collection, but need some input from everyone about air filters. Checked out Powermatic/JDS/Steel City and Jet today on Woodcraft.com. All seem fairly comparable in spec’s but price varies by up to $120. Anyone got any thoughts/preferences. Not a huge investment but sometimes minor differences make equipment more or less desirable. Let me know. Thanks

I encountered the same problem; they all have the same specs, same filter config, virtually same features. As an envoronmental engineer by training I couldn't find a persuasive performance reason to choose any one.
Craigslist solved my problem: got a brand new Jet for $100.
Only challenge has been filters - I contend the factory Jet ones are GROSSLY over priced. I solved this by one of the high performance, cut-it-down-yourself filters from HD. Better filter media than the Jet ones, cost less too.
thanks for the input, I agree design and specs are identical, hard to see why price varies?
Mike, I just wanted to add a thought. I have an Oneida cyclone and a JDS 750-er.
Adding an Excalibur overarm blade guard (or equivalent) makes a bigger difference in airborne dust, compared to the JDS.
Oh, and I got my JDS for $125.00 on Craigslist!
