Nothing beats an oscillating spindle sander for sanding curves. The up-and-down movement helps keep the sanding sleeve from clogging. Sanding goes faster, the abrasive lasts longer, and there’s less risk of heat buildup. In our review of seven benchtop spindle sanders, we found that the Jet model, like all the models tested, did a very good job at its primary task. It also had adequate storage for extra spindles, sanding drums, and table inserts, but not tools. However, it’s tall design made it difficult to use comfortably on a 34-1/2 in. tall workbench.
