Veritas - Veritas- Twin-Screw Vise
The Veritas Twin-Screw Vise can clamp stock vertically in the center of its jaws, making it easier to dovetail wide boards.Like the other vises that were tested, the Veritas Twin-Screw Vise can be used as either a front vise or an end vise. Although it doesn’t have a quick-release feature, it can clamp stock vertically in the center of its jaws, making it easier to dovetail wide boards, which is a compelling benefit. This vise hardware has a 12-in. opening capacity. It has the biggest clamping capacity out of the vises that were tested, clamping up to 16-in.-wide boards between screws, and it does not rack. The front jaw can be skewed for tapered parts or to overcome racking force if you clamp something outside the screws. It received an excellent rating for ease of use, although its two handles can be a nuisance at times. The Veritas Twin-Screw Vise was awarded the author’s choice for best overall vise hardware.

I bought one of these vises fifteen years ago when I built a new bench. It's one of those products that appears to be a good idea, but does not work well in practice. I had to replace the masterlink within a year and the screws often become skewed, requiring an allen wrench to realign. This is often caused by the allen head set screws on one of the vise screws not working propertly. Despite the fact there are two set screws, they simply are not robust enough to put use any good torqure. I spent five or six years with the chain off, just using two hands to operate the vise, but that often proves cumbersome when attempting to set a narrow piece in the vice that does not reach the guide pins. A good idea, but simply not robust enough. I would probably beef up the chain and drive sprockets, and find a better method with the set screws.
