FWW Makes the Cut at the Chicago Tribune
Newspaper includes us in its list of 50 favorite magazinesFine Woodworking magazine has made this year’s list of 50 favorite magazines, as compiled by the Chicago Tribune. “We like magazines that instruct, entertain, take us places we’d otherwise never know,” says the paper’s article.
FWW is the only woodworking magazine to make the list. Fine Gardening, also published by The Taunton Press, made the list of favorites too.
Here’s what the Tribune had to say about us:
“Glossy monthly [actually, we’re a bimonthly] that (re-)established furniture building as an art form. After a day of making more sawdust than masterpieces, there’s no better balm for the amateur’s psyche than reading how dovetail joints should have been cut and how curves fared.”
As you might expect, magazines published in or about Chicago were well represented. “Chicagoland Tails” (pets), “Illinois Issues” (politics), “Chicago” (the city), and “Chicago History” (the past) also made the list.
