From its earliest days, Fine Woodworking magazine included short pieces of advice from readers for jigs, fixtures, techniques, and the like to make woodworking faster, easier, safer, or smarter. These Methods of Work are one of the most popular departmets in the magazine.

Now, we’ve begun making these tips Internet-friendly. With the help of FWW Associate Editor Tom McKenna and his colleagues, we’ve launched a series of video Quick Tips to show many of these readers’ methods of work in action–everything from a simple holder for spring clamps to an innovative backer block to use with a router table.
