Festool Domino Earns Quick Popularity
New tool for making mortise-and-tenon joints has strong showing in Knots pollThe Festool Domino, an innovative power tool that makes quick work of cutting mortises, has quickly become popular, according to a recent poll on Knots, the FWW.com reader forum.
Between Aug. 31 and Sept. 20, a total of 682 people voted for their favorite tool for cutting mortises. As the graph shows, the router was the leading choice, followed by the hollow-chisel mortiser. The Domino came in fourth, with 53 votes, nosing out the drill press. Not a bad showing for a pricey tool that had been available for only six months at the time of the poll.
The poll is an unscientific (but, we hope, entertaining) part of FWW.com. The results reflect the opinions of Knots users, not necessarily all woodworkers.
A new poll has been posted on the FWW.com home page.

Thanks - I'm considering purchasing this tool as a replacement for biscuit jointer, with the assumption that it is more than that. Any input is appreciated.
