I made 3 sets of these trees for my wife, daughter and daughter-in-law.  They get a lot of positive comments from friends and relatives.  The 3 sizes are 13.5" x 6", 12" x 4.5", and 10" x 4".  They are made up of 4 quarter hickory laminated into a large block. adding a base of walnut, and a star topper of walnut is added as the last step.  I turned them to shape, made the cuts with a parting tool, and burned the ornaments into the wood, then finished with gloss polyurethane.
