The overall length of the unit is 16'4". The depth of the shelves are 14" and the depth in the center core where the tv and stereo equipment units are, is 30". I utilized the wall where the foundation has an indent for the fireplace on the above floor. I built this unit in three separate sections and then joined together as I fastened them to the wall. The drawers are on full extension slides and contain music cd's and nintendo games. The bottom drawercontains 3 game units so that all wiring is hidden and is easily cleaned up. Plenty of storage for DVD movies, cd's and whatever else underneath. Also at the other end of the room I built in the hydro panel with matching wood and also plenty of storage below. Unit is made of Oak ply and trimmed with solid red oak. Drawer fronts are solid wood. Both units were stained with Cherry finish and then varathaned. Took a dedicated 4-5 months and a few brew. Hope you like it. Rick
