A view of some of the tools, old and new, that Dad uses in his cabinetmaking.
Doors shut, hanging on the wall over Dads well used bench.
Some hand-cut hidden dovetails.
Closer look at some of the wooden planes that still see use today.

My Dad apprenticed as a cabinetmaker in Denmark, and their second year project was a toolbox, which was then used for the rest of their apprenticeship and onwards in their careers as cabinetmakers.  He built his toolchest in 1950, of Swedish fir and European beech, with rosewood guide pins, and finished with laquer.  The joinery is all hidden dovetails, and as you can see, it still sees active use, containing the myriad of tools he has collected and built over the years.

There it is right there! The heart of a small woodshop... Tool cabinet, bench, clamps. All in reach. I would love to check out all of the chisels, screwdrivers and whatever else with the wooden handles. I dig the little block plane in the corner that doesn't appear to have a special place, maybe because that was his handiest tool.
