Wedge and Strap Arts & Crafts Dresser
comments (1) February 10th, 2013 in Reader's Gallery
Here is my arts and crafts dresser which draws inspiration from the Harvey Ellis 9 drawer dresser. I scaled it down to a 6 drawer dresser, and added a distinctive wedge and strap motif to the backsplash. The wedge and strap detail is designed to look like a leather strap and wedge driven laterally. In fact, it is a walnut inlay set into a shallow dado.
Built from QSRO with poplar and aromatic cedar as secondary wood for the drawer boxes. Drawers feature 14 degree half-blind dovetails. Through tenons, walnut pegs, hammered hardware, and some subtle arches complete the look.
