Freud Improves its Bearing-Guided Bit
Top and bottom bearing makes flush-trim routing a cinch
On the road at the Association for Woodworking and Furnishings Suppliers (AWFS) annual tradeshow in Las Vegas, Fine Woodworking editors took a look at some interesting tools for woodworkers. This flush-trim router bit from Freud caught our eye. It features a top and bottom bearing, which is convenient when template cutting on the router table. It means you don’t have to change bits when switching between routing with the template above and below the workpiece. In this video, we visit the Freud booth to take a look at the 3/4-in. straight bit, model #50-509. Asa Christiana is managing editor of Fine Woodworking magazine.
