Nope, but I noticed you didn't get a response. If you don't mind commuting to Atlanta occasionally, we'll save you a front row seat if you like bar-be-que.
You might consider starting one as it seems they might be few and far between there. Then your problem is solved and you have done a public service for the local WW's.

entropy,
Don't know much about the situation in ME. However, maybe this website could at least give you someone to contact:

Hi Entropy:
There is only one group here in Maine that I'm aware of. Its called the Maine Woodworkers Association. They meet about once a month for shop tours of area workshops. There apparently is a wide range of skill and interest levels among the members.
Unfortunately, they don't seem to have any real web presence. Their mailing address is:
Maine Woodworkers Association
308 Maine Steet
Brunswick ME 04011
Sorry, no phone #
You can also try contacting the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Rockport (207-594-5611). I know that MWA is producing a juried exhibition there this coming fall, so I bet they have some member contacts.

I don't know of any, probably because us natives are to durn independent. But there is a lot of interest around in the area (I'm in Orrington). There's a lot of small basement and outside shops around, as some of us need something besides TV to get through the winter months. Woodworkers Warehouse before it closed was the 5th largest seller in their chain, and that was a big factor in getting Western Tool to come in. It would be nice to get together with some of the folks on occasion, swap lies and such, and maybe share a little information. The talent for hands on stuff, and the Yankee ingenuity that goes along is incredible around this state. Trouble is, much goes unrecognized and un-noticed except for family and friends. Keep us posted to what turns up.
Thanks for the replies!
Sarge- sounds good, Atlanta will be a bit of a cash crunch with current gas pricing though :)
BG- thanks, I'll check out the link
Marcmaine- appreciate the tips, I will definitely look into what you have suggested, whereabouts in Maine are you located?
Mainegywolfe- Orrington huh? small world, I grew up in Orrington. Feel free to send me a direct email if you like. I live on the other side of the river now.
I'll have to do some digging, and look into the suggestions made above, but it almost sounds as though I may need to look at starting from scratch. I guess this would be a good place to start if we get enough Mainers to chime in.
