"I'd rather be a hammer than a nail"
Hi,
Do you mean the IWF show? It is coming this summer. I can't remember the dates but usually Aug. I think. It's the biggest wood industry show in the US. Then the AWFS in Vegas is the second largest wood show, it comes one year after the IWF.
I received my discount card about a month ago and I do plan to make the 300 mile round trip drive down with a friend to check it out this year. I hope I will not be disappointed. Had a nice time there last year.
Ther are two shows this year in Atlanta. The first is Jan 25 - Jan 27. This is "The Woodworking Show", kind of a smallish show at the Georgia International Convention Center close to the airport. This show has recieved mixed reviews and has a lot of small vendors hawking their wares. The IWF 2008 is HUGH...it's at the World Congress Center next to CNN and takes up all 3 exibition halls. It is August 20-23. I thought I was going to hurt myself trying to walk the whole show year before last. They have displays of CNC machines as big as my house. Every vendor is there with complete displays (none of that at "the woodworking show"). IWF is definately geared to the pro but is very interesting to all levels of woodworkers. I made some good contacts, picked up a few things, and gawked at the big stuff.
Tool show or furniture show?
This would be the tool show which is usually held in Atlanta in January or early February. The undisciplined life is not worth examining.
