Looking for some input from those who may have attended a class at William NG School of Woodworking in Anaheim, CA. I’m interested in his class building the Maloof rocker. If you have taken the class my questions. 1) Was the class enjoyable? 2) Did it meet your expectations? 3) Would an accomplished intermediate woodworker be overwhemed with the learning curve required to finish the project?
I would appreciate any input.
Thanks, Bill

Bill, I have taken two classes from William Ng and am looking forward to many more. I did the cabinet class and the Masters woodworking bench class. Learned a lot from a very smart and patient teacher, who I hope now views me as a friend.
On the first trip I came away with a double bathroom vanity. On the second, we milled everything from 8/4 stock (except the pre-laminated top) and I came away with a beautiful (and very HEAVY) hard rock maple bench, a face vise with a cherry trim strip insert (my tweak), twin screw tail vise with a matching cherry trim strip insert on the top (me again), a double row of dogholes (doghouses), hand made walnut dogs, and a big ole smile on my face.
Before I signed up for the class I had been toying with the idea of getting the Lie-Nielsen bench, as it seemed to be the best one out there (and besides, I've already sent Thomas most of my money, why shouldn't I send him the rest?). I love my bench and I wouldn't trade it straight across for one now; you'd have to ply me with plenty of green to even temp me . . . . and even then you'd probably have to get me drunk too.
A Maloof class is in my future. Depending on where you are located, you can swing his shop and studio ( a few doors down from the shop) and see the one William made, as well as the chest that he uses in his FWW ad, plus other pieces he made. You will not be disappointed.
