Being Serious here. Would any of you be interested in using an aftershave/cologne that smells like a pine or hemlock forest. Earthy/woodsy type smells?
I’am getting awfully tired of the sickening sweet foo, foo juices.

Bruce,
Well, this ought to be a lively discussion, albeit unique. I maintain some constraint!
Can you get cherry or cedar?

I've always wanted to smell like a cedar chest. Say, when you put this on, it's like getting wood, right?
Sometimes I spill turpentine. On purpose. If that tells ya anything.
Smells better than MEK.
Real trucks dont have sparkplugs
You mean like palin old Mennon's?
Tulipwood or Argentine Lignum Vitae perhaps, both woods have a very nice scent when fresh cut.
Gee.... My wife like me to shower first?
I vote for sassafras.
We get to soon oldt und to late schmart
Add a dash of Rosewood to your tincture and You'll have it .
As far as one of the most odiferous woods I have ever smelled White Fir takes it
Years ago when the local plywood mills would run White fir core and with the prevailing NW wind it stunk .

When you mentioned pine, I thought of Chris Farley in the movie Tommy Boy, where he rubbed himself down with a pine tree air freshener.
I like the scent of cedar, but it's an irritant to many as well. For what it's worth, I like the smell of lacquer thinner and other finishes in moderation. How about a cologne called Mineral Spirit?

Hey you laugh. I work by hand and I'll be working in my shop for hours planing stock and i'll be sweaty from sawing like I've been working out in the gym. And some woman will come into my shop and say "gee it smells great in here". Obviously they are smelling the wood and not me. Personally, I don't care for the smell of pine. But women I know (and some i don't) see to like it.
On the flip side, I never thought much for the smell of jasmine or lavender perfumes women wear. But I'd cross the street to smell a women who smelled like bacon. I think somebody oughta smarten up and make ladies a bacon perfume.

Adam,
Damn, I just bit off the end of my tongue!

I dunno - everyone in my office seems to like the smell of Watco a few days after I put it on the project... Maybe a splash of it under the pits?Tom Iovino

You need some tongue oil.
‘Scent of Titebond’
I use that to slick down my hair. LOL
I'm surprised nobody mentioned sandalwood.
Titebond in your hair. That's called a permanent.
Nah, turpentine deodorant.
First time I caught the scent of Charlie perfume on a woman, I thought, smells just like running incense cedar through the table saw. Sneak over to the perfume counter at a department store and spritz some. Might be just what you're looking for, although you may end up having some 'splainin' to do to someone.
Gotta be based on sandalwood,...as in, OH-Da-SAND-Da-Wood!
Boys Boys Boys:
It ain't the colone that brings the ladies around so skip that all together. We like the boys who know how to use their tools!
Got you all to smile now didn't I?

Is that Hand or Power tools?
Freshly cut Walnut does it for me. What are you selling Bruce?..."Seriously".
Brian
It's just a half baked idea that there might be a market for an aftershave that went beyond all of the sickening sweet odors that give me a headache. Something on the natural smells line like "Fall leaves" ,"Hemlock Forest", "Fresh cut Oak".

The scent of Australian cypress pine is distinctive and hangs around for years. My vote would be for that one. Maybe you know it better as 'knotty pine'?
Lapun.
I don't know about using it for furniture, but hemlock sure smells nice.
Also the oil from a hot Triumph 500 when your first untwist the cap.
Also the combined scent of Cherry Blend pipe tobaccy, fresh cut pine, dirt floor and happy sweat in my grampa's cellar shop.
Tom
I use this but with caution.
Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
Is there a noticeable difference in fragrance between Clear Spruce and Knotty Spruce*?
-Steve
*Or should that be "Naughty Spruce"?
Yes there is a clear difference.Chris @ flairwoodworks

That's what I'am looking for, Googled that and found that it's a Nine Flags Cologne by Colton. Will check them out. Wild Cedar, Mountain Green, Clear Spruce, Green Moss and Live Oak sound interesting to me.
At the E-bay prices, I can see why caution is used.

Don't be mislead, Bruce. They don't actually smell anything like the natural names they use. I had no idea they were available, I had to dust that bottle off. When I was framing houses, we would often stop at the pub after work. More than a few ladies commented that I smelled good. It was the spruce and pine sawdust in my pockets. Many people that use cologne get immune to it and splash it all over. We have often left or changed seats in movie theaters or restaurants due to some cheap, smelly, department store, perfume. Nothing wrong with a drop in the right place but give the rest of us a break!Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
Agree with, "No Marine Corp. Showers" perfume and aftershave should be discoverd not broadcast.Work Safe, Count to 10 when your done for the day !!

Absolutely NOT- all those smell like lavatory cleaners.
I wouldn't go for a lady smelling of BACON either, but would consider a rich one smelling of DALBERGIA LOUVELLIS.
I think IMBIUA can't be beat for a his or hers slap on cologne .
