I just got an offer to subscribe to yet another woodworking publication called ” Woodwork “.
I was wondering if anyone gets this magazine and their opinions of it.
Thanks
Bill

Woodwork Magazine is excellent. It does not have, in my opinion, as easy a format to read as Fine Woodworking but if you take the time to read the various articles, its almost like your with the author as he is constructing the featured piece. I have every issue and its right up there with FW. Go for it!
Jim, Does Woodwork Magazine have a web site? woodworkmagazine and just woodwork don't get me there.Bill

I think that it is a good publication, but it is different from any other woodworking magazine. They seem to focus on design, turning, carving, and the more artistic side of woodworking. They have some "how to" type articles, but not as many as Fine Woodworking, for example. Their photography is excellent and it is printed on heavy stock, so it has a high quality feel. I pick it up when they have articles that hit my points of interest, but I do not subscribe. One thing that they seem to do with each issue, that I think is really cool, is a biographical article about a woodworker. The woodworker may or may not be well known, but his/her work is always outstanding.
By the way, some Knots regulars such as Larry Williams and Sgian have had articles published in it.
Cheers
Kyle
Definitely worth a subscription, I get them all but if I had to narrow my choices they'd be FWW and Woodwork hands down.
Thanks for asking the question BC, you beat me to it. I am going to subscribe also. Since dropping Wood Magazine and American Woodworker (I've had enough plans for birdhouses and scroll saw toys ) I've been looking for a mag comparable to FWW. Actually I may reconsider American Woodworker, they seem to have some interesting stuff every now and then, but Wood Mag doesn't do it for me. An emphasis on design in Woodwork will be interesting.

Interesting story on Scott Schmidt leaving WW'ing for a nursing career in this months issue. Sgain Dubh (Richard Jones) from this forum has an article there ocassionally. It's a different look at things as is Furniture&Cabinet-Making from England. It is a every two month issue, BTW.
