Hi,my name is Peter and I live in Australia.I have an article from FWW Jan/Feb 86 on design of wooden clock movements, but I was after something with detailed plans for cogs etc. I have tried contacting Taunton, but their email set up will not send unless I fill in an American Province in that section, and if I do ,still will not send because a foreign country is included in the address. Thanks in anticipation for some help,Peter.

There is a 1978 issue of Finewoodworking that has a good article on design and methods for cutting wheels and pinions. Also there is a Taunton publication I think it is called "Small Projects" that provides methods for design and fabrication of wooden clocks. I do not have those close at hand right now, but can get the publication dates later. I built one from the 'Thomas' Plans years ago, with some modifications. I laminated material for the wheels, and cut out with band saw. This is a tedious method and not very accurate. The small projects article explains a method for using a router and template to cut the wheels. You can also google John Wilding, he has plans available for wood works clocks.
