What does the "Custom" get you, and is it a premium price?
If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it.
And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
Hi bones,
I'm not sure but it seems all you get is a fancy paint job and a plaque with your name on it ( I guess in case you forget who owns it ). Oh, I think you can pick your motor size and fence configuration as well. But can't you do that anyway?
Sounds like a marketing thing trying to boost sales. It could appeal to some though. Just not me.

Hey all,
My name is Robert Smith. I actually work for Wood Werks.
To answer your questions, besides the cosmetic changes (which appeal to some, and not others), the real focus is the Blanchard Ground Top and the US made Baldor Motor which you can't get on a Powermatic anymore.
The custom color, plaque, fancy knobs etc. are all really for fun.
Let me know if you have any more questions.

Hi Robert,
Do the American made 66's have a blanchard ground top and baldor motor?
Lee
I looked at the display in Wood Werks on Saturday. WOW!! A very beautiful saw with a blanchard ground top that gleams, custom paint color of your choice, a Baldor motor and personalization. It may not be a huge inprovement on a standard saw, except for the Baldor and ground top, but it sure looks great. I personally take pride in having good looking tools, and if I did not have a 2 year old Unisaw that I really like, I would be ordering one for myself.
If you need some additional info on the saw give Ron Damon a call at 614-575-2400.
I have no financial interest in Wood Werks, just a satisfied customer.
From the ad,
But beyond all that… something I know a ton of you have been begging Powermatic for… A US made Baldor Motor!
How many people in a ton? I guess at an average of 200 lbs per person that would be 10.
Ron
That was a good one :)
