I would like to build a wood storage rack outside, underneath my deck. I live in a high mountain area, Sierra Nevada mountains, which gets snow in the winter. Average summer temperatures are 80-95 degrees, winter is 15-30 degrees. The humitity is always quite low. The wood would be protected from sunlight, rain and snow, but would be subject to the prevailing temperatures and humitity. Mainly I will be storing hardwoods, both domestic and exotic plus burls. Is this feasible in the sense of not being damaging to the wood?
Thank you. David

As long as it stays dry, and is protected from the sun, you've avoided the things that are most likely to damage the wood, but it needs to be well supported and will do better if it is also stickered.

Thank you. It will stay dry and I am carefull about stickering.
