Just looking to see if anyone has any ideas on a wood/stain combo that would mimic wenge.
I know there is no replacing real wenge but I am on a bit of a budget and just trying to get that look not so much that actual wood.
Thanks

In my experience the best wood to start with is red oak, because there's something similar in its texture and open-pore structure to wenge. If you take it to a really deep brown with stain, you'll get a reasonable facsimile of wenge.
