I am going to be in Denver in a few weeks and want to pick up a few short boards of aspen. Anyone know of sawmills or other sources of aspen in that area?
Thanks,

Hi, Alan,
Try Paxton's Lumber which is about two blocks from I-70 and Colorado Blvd. They have a lot of different woods and are the best first choice. Also pricey.
Good luck, Tom.
Thanks Tom. Any sources that aren't so pricey? Just need some rough cut, mill run aspen.

Where are you visiting from? Here are the wood suppliers I use - Not sure who sells Aspen... but I did see some at Lowes a few years back...
Woodcraft Store (price is always high)
Rockler (price is always high)
Austin Hardwoods 303) 733-1292 (love'em)
Centennial hardwoods (303) 778-6209 (love'em)
Paxton (303) 399-6810 (they are okay)
Hardwood Emporium - 303-277-1488 (Never been there... but I hear they are cool)
Kyhlwood in Ft Collins makes a trip once or twice a month to Denver 319-346-1948
http://www.cswoods.com/ makes regular delivery trips to Denver. You may be able to buy something "special" that would be very hard to get.
Swing by my house if you get a chance. I'm sanding a current project and I could use the company!
Tbagn,
Thanks for the sources. Just looking for some simple aspen. Nothing expensive or fancy (unless its free).
From Pennsylvania.
Thanks,
Alan
Have you checked woodfinder.com? Also, you may have to ask around to find the small sawmills, that would have millrun aspen, they may or may not be listed on woodfinder.
Also, check this site, it may be helpful:

First try Centennial, Austin or Paxton. They are the major suppliers for the area and your best bet - however, be sure to check out Lowes. I recall seeing it (S4S) at the Lowes, by South West Plaza Mall (approximately 5400 S Wadsworth Blvd).
Want to bring me some Cherry? I'm sure we can work out a trade!
Tried them all. No one has Colorado lumber. They bring it in. One said they might have some aspen. everyone has hardwoods only.
Thanks for the ideas.

When is your trip? I may be able to swing by there and take a look... if I have time.
