I will be travelling to Nova Scotia Aug 16/17 . Will be traveling I 90 from Buffalo and Mass Turnpike and up I 95 into Maine. Does anyone know of any Woodworking Shows or good craft shows along that route or anywhere else in the eastern US. Good tools stores are high on my list. Wood working and country music, it doesn’t get any better.

Well if you could have gotten to Minnesota this past weekend you could have spent 4 days at out door country music show. In a week or so my brother is going to send me a video tape of the 4 days. According to him you need to 18 to watch it.
Roscoe,
You might find it convienient to take in a session with Charlesworth at Lee Neilson up in Maine while on your trip. You can log onto the LN web site and see if any of the dates work for you.
LN in Maine would be worth stopping. I live in Halifax and the only thing I can think of, of interest would be Lee Valley. There is a wood show this fall but I think it is in November. Drop me a line my address is below if you have something in mind for your trip.

Brian,
Just in case you want to rethink your route.
The Shelburne Museum in Burlington Vermont is fantastic. Very folksy.

When you get north of Portland, Maine on I-95, exit in Brunswick and get on US Rt. 1 and head north. In Woolwich, there is the Shelter Institute/Woodbutcher Tools http://www.shelterinstitute.com/timberclass_tools.htm They have a good selection of handtools. Stop in Wiscasset just before the bridge at Red's Eats for good lobster, crabmeat, or clam roll. A little farther north on Rt 1 in Warren is the Lie-Nielsen factory store. 10% discount (actually 5% after you figure in the sales tax) if you buy there. Eveything is on display for you to try including some prototype stuff.
