It wasn't that common in the past, to see black walnut with the light-color of air-dried sapwood showing. So a lot of people are surprised to see that big color contrast.
Grading of walnut has changed, it now allows for more sapwood.
I'd bet some sappy ash it's walnut..
It could be Pecan, but it's Walnut.
