I want to make an out -door bench, what type of wood do you recommend? I have not decided if I will paint it or leave it natural.

Cedar and teak would be at the top of most lists.
Either can be left to their own devices and get a weathered texture if desirable.
Painting can add maintenance but is also an attractive alternative.
